CCTS Cumberland County Transportation Service Society

New funding has paved the way for an expansion that will break transportation barriers for Cumberland residents.

CCTS (Cumberland County Transportation Service) is an accessible, affordable,

non-profit, public transportation service for all residents of the Cumberland County who are transportation disadvantaged.

CCTS is registered under the societies act through registry of joint stocks.

History

The Healthy Parrsboro Area Community (HPAC) has been one of the driving forces responsible for bringing a viable transportation option to Cumberland County. Under their direction Saint Maryծiversity conducted a feasible study to see what the needs were. The results were pretty much what we expected,” said Dora Fuller. We have known for some time now that seniors were missing doctors appointments because there was no affordable option.

Equally as passionate with regard to the issue of accessible, affordable transportation was the Amherst and Area Community Transportation (ACT) service group.

The two groups met with the province and came up with a solution that was plausible for all involved and would be able to increase the number of communities for whom accessible transportation service would be a reality.

CCTS continues to evolve and expand its ability to “take people where they need to go.

THE CCTS OFFICE IS CLOSED ON ALL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
